1. What is your outlook on the state of the regional economy? When will we start to see recovery?

Though the market has shown some improvements in general; we believe the picture will be clearer by the end of the second quarter of 2010.
The recovery can only be achieved when all join hands with the regulatory authorities and each contribute in their respective areas

2. What is your outlook on the Bahrain insurance market, and the new compulsory medical insurance law proposed?

The growth in the medical class of business is very high with demands from companies as well as individuals. This is because of the awareness and the requirements of a lot of individuals when it comes to providing private healthcare plans.
In terms of the Compulsory medical insurance, it will probably be sometime in 2011.

3. What have been the key highlights for your company during 2009?

1. The company obtained a rating from Standard and Poor’s of “BBB with Stable Outlook” and we are now the first rated Takaful company in Bahrain

2. Availability of adequate treaty capacity to meet the requirements of the majority of business in Bahrain
3. Expanded range of services provided through branches
4. Enhancement of career skills of staff and to delegate staff to attend training and seminars locally and abroad and implement as appropriate
5. Have concluded MOU’s with regional compaines to sell products of each other’s behalf.
