4. There has been much debate about the need for the mandatory training of entry level insurance staff in Bahrain. What do you see as the roles of the CBB and BIAA moving this forward?
Bahrain has been the fairest country in the region in promoting manpower especially in Insurance and financial institutions in general. CBB, as always, is fair in stepping forward appropriately. In this instance, it is noteworthy to mention the joint efforts of CBB, BIA and BIBF in having programes such as the Tamkeen Program HRD Fund which proved successful and is contributing a lot towards the success of the manapower in Bahrain
5. What are your plans for 2010?
∙ To maintain the leadership position in the market
∙ To further strengthen relationships with brokers, regional and international insurance and reinsurnce
compaines.
∙ To introduce new products in the market
∙ To continue programs of developing manpower skills
6. Reflecting on the Gulf Insurance Forum held in Bahrain, would you like to see more insurance conferences being held in the Kingdom? It is no secret that contrary to the lack of participation at some events in other parts of the region, every conference held in Bahrain seems to always be a hit and well attended. Why is that do you believe?
There is tremendous support received from the CBB. Here again the joint efforts of CBB and BIA is noteworthy. Furthermore the topics and forum arrangements in Bahrain are unique.
