5. What are your plans for 2010?

On one hand we aspire to aggressively grow our current operations in Bahrain, Qatar & Kuwait. On the other hand, we hope to be able to enter selected additional markets, which will make us the only Takaful Insurance Company operating across the GCC.

6. Reflecting on the Gulf Insurance Forum held in Bahrain, would you like to see more
insurance conferences being held in the Kingdom? It is no secret that contrary to the lack of participation at some events in other parts of the region, every conference held in Bahrain seems to always be a hit and well attended. Why is that do you believe?

The reason is that Bahrain is the main hub of insurance in the GCC, therefore it’s much easier to secure participation as most participants live in Bahrain , however, in my view there are too many conferences in the region at the moment and as an insurance company we find it genuinely difficult to pick the right ones to attend. Ideally we should have fewer but higher quality events over all.
